Volunteer Registration

We NEED You!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Shuswap Music Festival. We will do our best to accommodate your requests in the priority indicated.  Final Schedules will be available at our training sessions for ALL volunteers.

A Volunteer Evening will be held to orient all volunteers.  You will be notified by email once the time for the training sessions has been confirmed.

If you wish to volunteer, please fill out and submit the following form as soon as possible, as we will need some time to do the scheduling.

NOTE: When registering to volunteer, please ensure you provide us with at least two choices for “position” and “shifts”.

For those of you new to the Festival, here is a brief overview for each volunteer position.

Box Office

Sets up the Welcome and check in area.

Checks in all participants as they arrive.

When the class has all arrived, lets the Secretary know and closes the door to the auditorium.

Controls the door – anyone can come out but no one can go in unless you say so.  No one enters if a participant is playing or the adjudicator is speaking.

Training is done for all volunteers.

Secretary

Works with the adjudicator.

Makes sure all the papers needed for the day are there and that the adjudicator has signed everything needed.

When the box office tells you all the participants have arrived, introduce yourself, welcome everyone, review the rules and then introduce the Adjudicator. (You will have a script to read from.)

Be sure the certificates and papers that need the adjudicator’s attention are dealt with.

Stage Hand

Will help with set up and take down of equipment, tables, chairs and music stands where needed.

Stagehands will work in pairs of two volunteers.

No heavy lifting and limited stairs.

When choosing your shifts, the time shown is the start time, the end time will be determined by the task at hand.
